Enjoy a walk? Best Devon Jurassic Coast walk part 2 Seaton to Sidmouth England

Devon Jurassic Coast Walk - Seaton to Sidmouth  4 childhood friends now in our 40’s enjoying some bonding time along an, at times challenging walk.  Although this wasn’t as close to the Coast line for sections of the walk as Westbay to Lyme Regis (Jurassic Coast part 1) the walk offered a mix of scenery, forest, field, cliff, sea and beach views over the 12 miles, 5 and a half hour walk.  The distance and time does vary depending on which route you take, some of the more challenging sections can be bypassed.  The first half was quite flat and steady, the middle very hilly and steep, tricky in places due to the landscape and gradient.  The end relatively flat and steady. We rewarded ourselves with a drink and a meal at the Blueball in Sidford which is just outside Sidmouth,  https://www.blueballsidford.co.uk/ Highlights  - Beer  - Branscombe Beach - Descent onto Weston Mouth Beach  Links to helpful routes / planners below   https://www.10...

Beaumaris Castle and South Stack Lighthouse, Anglesey, North Wales

Beaumaris Castle - The last of King Edwards I (Longshanks)Welsh Castles T he last of King Edward 1’s, 4 mighty castles located in North Wales. (Anglesey) T he castle was designed by the Savoyard mason Master James of Saint George Beaumaris was built from 1295 CE (r.   1272-1307 CE) to protect his territorial gains in the region . The castle featured the latest defensive designs of the period such as round towers, inner and outer circuit walls, massive towered gates and a fortified dock. It was never finished due to lack of funds and trouble brewing in Scotland so King Edwards resource and focus shifted. It was on my bucket list for quite some time (due to Covid amongst other things) before I got to visit and the wait was worth it. Even though it’s not finished, it’s magnificent. Almost symmetrical and very heavily fortified, with its position on the banks of the River Seiont, it’s very impressive. Ive visited all 4 now, I haven’t been inside Harlech as it was closed when we visited...
