If hiking with an amazing view is your hobby? Lake Windermere is a must, combine it with somewhere comfy and relaxing to stay in Ambleside.

Crow How Country Guest House  Ambleside Lake Windermere Our trip included a 2 night stay at Crow How, the location was ideal for us as it was very quiet, scenic and only a 10 minute walk or 3-5 minute car journey to Ambleside town centre.  Everything appeared to be well kept and it was nicely furnished. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and made for a good nights sleep, that combined with the very quiet surroundings.  Breakfast offered a nice variety with cereals, fruit, yogurt, Granola and a number of hot options, we had the full English which was very good.   All the staff were polite, friendly and efficient. There was a communal lounge with nice decor and comfortable furnishings, there are also a number of seating areas / options outside to relax and enjoy the countryside and views.  Our activities included walking up to Stock Ghyll Force.   https://www.visitcumbria.com/amb/stock-ghyll-force/ We started from the Crow How and made our way t...

Tregenna Castle Hotel in one of Cornwall's best - St Ives England

Tregenna Castle and St Ives Work trip - 1 night  It’s been a few years, but it was good to be back staying at Tregenna, enjoying the stunning views, comfy furnishings and good food. Peaceful and relaxing, being out of season. The pool was very warm which is always good. I actually stayed in room 1, out of 130 and I think that it maybe on the more budget end of the accommodation options. Comfy and adequate just a little basic. I do remember the rooms we stayed in previously being more luxurious. Don’t let this put you off though as the rest of the hotel is lovely. ( just have to pay a little more to upgrade the room) It’s a 10-15 minute walk into St Ives through the lovely garden and grounds. If you arent going to eat at the hotel, I advise booking somewhere in St Ives in advance as its gets very busy and spaces can become limited. Tregenna has a golf course, Spa facilities, indoor and outdoor pool. The walk around the hotel is very nice, scenic and tranquil. Tregenna is around a 3...

Enjoy Walking? Dorset Jurassic Coast walk part 1 - West Bay to Lyme Regis offers spectacular views

Dorset Jurassic Coastal - West Bay to Lyme Regis This walk has stunning scenery and views in all directions, its not easy in places so allow plenty of time, It took us around 5 and half hours, but we did stop several times for lunch, drinks and of course to enjoy the views. be sure to sample the nice pubs and cafes along the route nestled in Seatown and Charmouth (We are both in our 40's with an average fitness level at the time) Start planning your trip sooner rather than later as the coast is gradually slipping away. I managed to pick up a tick in the long grass so take precautions, I am guessing this was in the long grass near the Lyme Regis section which you can avoid if you prefer. My friend covered himself in insect repellent and sun tan lotion which was the smart move. The walk starts at the end of Westbay Seafront, as pictured below, its very visible and easy to follow. If you use the Windy Corner Cafe postcode DT6 4GZ, this takes you right to the beginning of the Seafront....
