  Crow How Country Guest House  Ambleside Lake Windermere Our trip included a 2 night stay at Crow How, the location was ideal for us as it was very quiet, scenic and only a 10 minute walk or 3-5 minute car journey to Ambleside town centre.  Everything appeared to be well kept and it was nicely furnished. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and made for a good nights sleep, that combined with the very quiet surroundings.  Breakfast offered a nice variety with cereals, fruit, yogurt, Granola and a number of hot options, we had the full English which was very good.   All the staff were polite, friendly and efficient. Livorno to The Leaning Tower of Pisa This post is to help anyone that is on a cruise and wishes to travel from Livorno Port to Pisa on their own, the most important part is to be really mindful to validate your train ticket, even if you have just purchased it at the station.  Strange concept in my mind, and I'm sure it catches lots of tourists out.  We heard of a few people on our cruise that got fined, as they hadn’t validated their ticket.  Regardless of my opinion, you need to validate your ticket, before you get on your designated train. There are small machines in the station and on the platform. You slide your whole ticket in to the right hand side from memory and slide left and the machine will sound an alarm and turn green if successful. Persist as it can take a few attempts.
