Livorno to The Leaning Tower of Pisa This post is to help anyone that is on a cruise and wishes to travel from Livorno Port to Pisa on their own, the most important part is to be really mindful to validate your train ticket, even if you have just purchased it at the station.  Strange concept in my mind, and I'm sure it catches lots of tourists out.  We heard of a few people on our cruise that got fined, as they hadn’t validated their ticket.  Regardless of my opinion, you need to validate your ticket, before you get on your designated train. There are small machines in the station and on the platform. You slide your whole ticket in to the right hand side from memory and slide left and the machine will sound an alarm and turn green if successful. Persist as it can take a few attempts.
