Albrighton Hall Hotel and Spa  Albrighton Hall Hotel and Spa is located in Shrewsbury in Shropshire, we visited as part of a spa day /  night away deal including dinner and breakfast. My wife and I found it to be a lovely relaxing and peaceful stay, with good food ( great breakfast ) and excellent cocktails. (the staff had created their own, the Lady Like is a must try)  The tranquil setting, made for a very nice environment, too switch off and enjoy the short break.  Albrighton is a mix of period style furnishings and modern decor depending on which area you are in, we found it very comfy, warm and inviting.  Prices were very reasonable for food and drink. Haughmond Abbey  Haughmond Abbey located in Shrewsbury in Shropshire around a 1 0 minute drive from Albrighton Hall and Spa which is where we were staying for the evening (reviewed in another post  https://www.booking.com/hotel/gb/albrighton.en.html?aid=8023173&no_rooms=1&group_adults=2 ) We visited as it was convenient for our stay, not knowing a great deal about the Abbey and what to expect, it made for a very enjoyable impromptu experience.  The Abbey covers quite a large area and there is still several large ruined pieces of the structure to enjoy.  Being part of the English heritage collection it is well maintained, there is a small exhibit  inside the office.
