With period style decor, comfortable furnishings and nestled in a tranquil setting, Albrighton Hall Hotel and Spa makes for a relaxing break.





Albrighton Hall Hotel and Spa 

Albrighton Hall Hotel and Spa is located in Shrewsbury in Shropshire, we visited as part of a spa day /  night away deal including dinner and breakfast.

My wife and I found it to be a lovely relaxing and peaceful stay, with good food ( great breakfast ) and excellent cocktails. (the staff had created their own, the Lady Like is a must try) 

The tranquil setting, made for a very nice environment, too switch off and enjoy the short break. 

Albrighton is a mix of period style furnishings and modern decor depending on which area you are in, we found it very comfy, warm and inviting. 

Prices were very reasonable for food and drink.

Negatives 

- Pool, not overly warm and needs some TLC

Don’t let that put you off though, as it may of been a temporary issue and was a minor point in comparison to the rest of the stay. 

We chatted to quite a few locals that go to enjoy the gym, good food and surroundings.

Stirling Castle and the William Wallace Monument, the best start to our Scottish Castle Tour

STIRLING CASTLE AND THE WILLIAM WALLACE MONUMENT First stop on our Scottish 4 day Castle Tour (by car) Stirling Castle seemed familiar to me, mainly, because it reminded me of Edinburgh Castle, a very impressive position perched atop its intrusive crag, well preserved also, we really enjoyed our visit with lots of different areas to see and explore. The views are stunning and stretch as far as the eye can see in all directions, the location of the castle was no accident. You can see Bridgehaugh, right next to Stirling Old Bridge which was the site of the battle of Stirling Bridge where in 1297 William Wallace defeated an English army.  With its place in history, we had to visit on our trip. Whilst in Stirling, we ignorantly stumbled across the William Wallace Monument, due to its unique shape, design and significance we found it to be another highlight of the trip.          Location, Location, Location   This visit to Cornwall was a business trip, so we chose The Fowey Valley Hotel in Lostwithiel due to its ideal location for us, although Lostwithiel is a small town it’s location is well positioned if you plan on visiting the local scenic quaint harbours and beaches.  The Fowey Valley is a very reasonably priced hotel with good facilities, and comfortable furnishings, the food was very good, both the evening meal and breakfast with a good selection.                              We found the staff very efficient friendly and accommodating.
